Establishment of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission
Being pained at the wretched condition of the India, Swami Vivekananda, the patriotic monk wanted its upliftment in all human aspects. Inspired by his guru, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda established Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission for the good of India and the world at large. It was the desire of Swamiji to open centres at Jaipur, Ajmer and Alwar in Rajasthan. His ideas of development and progress through selfless service penetrated through different parts of Rajasthan also. Motivated by his teachings, several devotees of Sri Ramakrishna joined together and started private centres in Bikaner, Khetri, Ajmer etc. In due course, centres at Khetri and Jaipur were affiliated to Ramakrishna Order. Thereby the desire of Swamiji to have a centre of service at JAIPUR, the historical pink city was fulfilled in the year 1988. Since then this centre has been rendering its humanitarian services in various ways.
