Ramakrishna Mission, Jaipur organized a Youth Convention along with Prize distribution ceremony for the drawing competition held on 21 July as well as essay competition held on 24 July on last Sunday, 7 August , 2022 to commemorate the 75 years of Indian independence.

The Youth Convention and Prize distribution ceremony started at sharp 5 pm on 7 August, 2022 (Yesterday) in Swami Vivekananda hall in Ramakrishna Mission Jaipur. The whole hall was packed with young students from different schools and colleges, some parents and guests from the city. More than 350 people attended the function. Mr Muktanand Aggarwal IAS, Registrar of Cooperative society, the chief guest of the occasion along with Sw. Devprabhananda, other distinguished speakers initiated the lamp lighting ceremony which was immediately followed by Vedic chanting by the Children from Vivekananda Bal Samskar Sangha. The first talk was given by Mrs Barsha Charan ji. After that three students delivered inspiring talks to the audience. Miss Rasika Sharma delivered a very eloquent and invigorating talk in English on the topic of Swami Vivekananda’s ideas on Nation Building through Character Building. After the talks by the students, Dr Shipra Mathur, a well-known journalist as well as editor of News Today delivered an interesting talk on ‘Indian women, Before and After Independence’. The second distinguished speaker on the dais was Mr Ajit Roy who gave a very stimulating talk on the topic ‘Swami Vivekananda aur Bharat ka Punar Jagran’. In the end our Chief Guest Mr Muktanand Aggarwal nicely broached his views on Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna. He stressed three qualities from the life of Swami Vivekananda that is his inquisitiveness, fearlessness and his love for the country in spite of the fact that he was a sanyasi which distinguishes himself from other sannyasins.

After the talks prizes were given to all the winners of both drawing and essay writing competition. In the drawing competition there were two groups, senior and junior. First, second and third prizes were given to each group. In the essay writing competition there were two major groups, one in Hindi and other in English. In each of these groups there were four sub groups depending on their classes, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 classes. First, second and third prizes were given to each of these groups . A total of 30 prizes were distributed to all the winners of the essay writing & Drawing competition. Finally Swami Devprabhananda conveyed a vote of thanks, shared some key ideas from Swamiji’s life and urged the youth to follow the principles of Swami Vivekananda. Everyone present there was given a snacks packet at the end. The programme ended quite successfully at around 7:30 pm.
